Benue’s greatest export should never be its own young talent. A state that teaches its children well and gives its youth real work builds its future at home.
Where Benue Stands
Benue has always prized learning: from the scholarship tradition of Okpokwu to the universities of Makurdi and the classrooms of Gboko and Vandeikya. But pride in learning cannot substitute for chalk, teachers and roofs, and too many public schools now ask families to choose between cost and quality.
Beyond the classroom waits a harder question: what the certificate is for. Graduates queue for scarce formal jobs while farms, trades and digital work go short of skills. The bridge between learning and earning is the single most valuable piece of infrastructure Benue’s young people could be given.
